From Skin Struggles to Skin Confidence: My Personal Journey to Healing

Since I was a teenager, I’ve struggled with something many people don’t talk openly about: skin picking. It became an addiction of sorts—any blemish, bump, or imperfection on my face or body became a target. What began as an anxious habit quickly turned into something that deeply impacted my skin and self-esteem.

Over the years, I accumulated scars, dark spots, and patches of hyperpigmentation from repeated picking. Even when my skin would begin to clear up during the rare periods I managed to stop, the damage left behind was always there—like a lingering reminder of the trauma my skin had endured. I tried everything I could get my hands on: topical brightening creams, chemical exfoliants, acids. They helped a little—on the surface. But they never really touched the deeper marks left behind.

☀️ The Wake-Up Call in Europe

Last summer, I traveled to Europe—what was supposed to be a dreamy coastal vacation. Normally, I’m religious about protecting my face: SPF, wide-brim hats, shade whenever possible. But this time, I made the mistake of not packing my own hat, thinking I’d find something stylish along the way. Turns out, the hat hunt was a bust—and the sun exposure wasn’t.

Between beach visits and afternoons spent soaking up the Mediterranean sun, my skin started to reveal the true extent of my hyperpigmentation and past acne scarring. Even with SPF, the intensity of the sun brought everything to the surface. I remember looking in the mirror, shocked. I’d never seen the damage so clearly before.

That trip, however, became more than just a sun-soaked getaway. I was traveling with someone who would soon become my business partner. We spent countless hours dreaming, planning, and talking about skin—how it affects how we feel, how it plays into our confidence, and how powerful it can be to take control of your own skin health. It was during that trip that I realized just how passionate I was about helping others feel better in their skin, too.

✨ Turning Pain Into Purpose

Fast forward to today, and that dream we talked about on sun-drenched balconies has become a reality. We launched our own business, complete with an incredible array of professional-grade skin treatments. And one of the best parts? I finally had access to tools that actually worked—not just to manage, but to transform my skin.

Here's what changed everything for me:

Radio Frequency was the first step. It helped tighten my skin and smooth out some of the textural damage caused by years of picking.

Next came microchanneling, which allowed nourishing serums to penetrate deeper layers of my skin while also stimulating collagen production.

I moved on to IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), which targeted my stubborn hyperpigmentation. After just a few sessions, I could see a visible difference. My skin looked more even, and the dark marks that had always bothered me began to fade.

Finally, I tried fractional resurfacing—the real game-changer. It helped dramatically refine my texture, minimize the appearance of scars, and gave me a clarity I hadn’t seen in years.

🌿 What I’ve Learned

This journey has been far from perfect—but it’s been transformative. Not just for my skin, but for my self-confidence. I’ve learned that skincare isn’t just about vanity; it’s about healing—physically and emotionally. Our skin tells a story. And while I can’t erase my past, I’ve found the tools and support to rewrite the ending.

Today, I’m not just a co-founder of a skincare business. I’m a client, a believer, and someone who’s been in the trenches of skin struggles. And I want you to know—if you’ve ever looked in the mirror and felt defeated by what you saw—you’re not alone.
